I was brimming with excitement, today was the day, his second birthday! Months of breed research, pound and kennel cruising had led me to the adoption of these two lovely, long faced spaniels. The perfect companions for a lad, his best buddies... I couldn't wait to see his face! When presented with his new best friends all he could do was cry. I asked "what's wrong, would you rather have a kitten...a different dog..." More tears, in exasperation, I went down the list, "fire engine, monster truck, robot, power ranger costume, espresso maker?" With that he smiled and we went to the kitchen and made ourselves lattes.
