'That's a long way down' I said to myself as I stepped into the glass elevator. I felt dizzy from the height and pressed my head against the glass wall of the elevator, making yet another smudge on the already smeared panel. 'Keep your eyes closed' I whispered, 'and you'll be ok'. And, as if the height wasn't bad enough, the elevator stopped at every floor and more and more people pushed their way in, hoping to avoid a long wait for the next elevator.
When we arrived at the first floor, I patiently waited as the crowd spilled out. From behind me I heard a deep, scratchy voice, "Are you alright?". 'That voice. I know that voice, but it couldn't be...' I turned my head slowly, peering out from the side of my left eye, certain my ears were mistaken, and "ahhh, whaaat?" I gasped, not believing what I saw. It was Wendell. His face was brighter than I remembered, and why was he wearing white? He hated white. "How?...who?...Wendell?", but once again the wave of dizziness surrounded me. I felt the blackness setting in. "But, the accident. The stunt. I thought you were...."
