about this story

One fine Sunday, my family and I had just come back from church. I watched as my dad backed up his bright red car into the garage. As I came into my living room, my dog, Ike, opened his eyes slowly and ran to greet us. Later in the afternoon, we had lunch. We ate smoked salmon and rice. As we ate, my dad sat down at the piano and played "Little Drummer Boy". It was my favorite Christmas song. I had played the song at my Winter Concert last year. After we ate lunch, I went outside and noticed the small white flowers that had blossomed at the beginning of spring. I found the small blossoms down in a field not far from my home. They were spread out everywhere. Later that night, my mom and dad took me and my brothers to that exact field for a reason unknown to me. Then I knew the reason why. Huge fireworks started to shoot up into the sky. Suddenly, my brothers both shouted, "Hanabi! Hanabi!". ("Hanabi" is Japanese for "fireworks"). Then at that moment, I had realized that it was Independence Day.
