Five Card Story: Frosty Day

about this story
The little bird stood on the snow, his feet, so cold he thought he would surely be stuck there. When he took off, looking down through the cold air, he saw a man in a kayak, and he followed the trail in the water that led to the kayaker's camp site. At the camp site, he found a partly eaten apple pie, and he figured that the person wouldn't miss a few little bird-sized bites, so he ate his fill and his feet started to warm up, too. Hopping into the person's car, he saw a curious screen on the dashboard that showed a straight line to a place marked Berry Farm. He was so excited that it took him several tries to get out of the car, and he finally flew in the direction that the road pointed, and found himself in a field filled with berries. He ate until he couldn't eat any more, and as he relaxed in the evening, he tucked his feet under his feathers, and was as toasty warm and content as a little bird could be.
