about this story

If you ever come to the sleepy town of Sea Ravine, you'll find the usual for small coastal cities, candy shops, antique and gift stores, seafood restaurants, boating trips. But something you don't see everyday is the Cathedral. The name of this place has been lost in time, so the locals call it what it is. The Cathedral. The enormous, aqua blue stone building stands on a cliff, overlooking the pulsing Pacific ocean. The route to this building is dirt, dandelions scattered in patches along the road. A small house sits in the shadow of the Cathedral. In this small stone house is the eldest member of the city, Lenora Hope Winston. Sometimes, if you're lucky, you can find her outside, painting or knitting in her small chair. If you are very polite, she may invite you to join her in reminiscing of her childhood. She may even talk about what she did every Sunday in that old, aqua stone building, or how she spent her springs and summers with the dandelions making chains and making wishes in the fall. She might recall her later years working in a candy shop, or participated in city council. Most importantly, when she is done, and it time for you to go, she'll thank you for making an old woman's day.
