about this story

During the day the enchanted village of Pinomee is colorful and bright, but when night falls it all changes to the the blackest of black. At the stroke of midnight the Goddess Artina appears to bring light back to Pinomee. All the villagers are so grateful they choose to build a shrine to honor the Goddess Artina. The villagers hope to continue to receive the gift of her colorful light when they are left to such darkness each night. One evening as the sun began to set and the darkness begins to roll in like a dark blanket of coal, the villagers notice a light coming from the nearby lake. It is a light like no other the villagers have ever seen. As they approach the extraordinary light bouncing around like a comet in the sky, the villagers realize it is a purple flower that carries a beam of light. It is a gift from the Goddess Artina. Because the villagers of Pinomee honored the Goddess Artina she repaid them by creating permanent light. Now the villagers of Pinomee will never see another black night, but a whimsical light in its place. The villagers of Pinomee are filled with glee and are thankful for their light.
