about this story

It is clear to see that you are now old
But you hold some of the best memories
The structure you have is extremely bold
I believe you will stand for centuries

I remember every window and door
We repaired you a lot over the years
And I recall every creak in the floor
When we moved I’m sure you were in tears

We have spent many holidays with you
Easter, Christmas, and even Halloween
I’m sure you enjoyed those holidays too
I did not spend years with you as a teen

Your existence is quite like a mouse
Be sure to know I miss you, my old house
