about this story

He was sure he had seen something flicker behind the corner. It may just have been the cold playing a trick on his mind or it may even have been his imagination going wild in the total darkness. Or, he thought to himself, maybe even the couple of beers i had up at the pub couple hours ago. Whatever he thought it was, he was wrong. The guy jumped at him before he could even register it. A low thump and a couple shouts later, the guys body and the blood on the curb was the only sights remaining from the scene. Luckily the harbour was just couple blocks away, so when the police found the body, the blood was easily washed away by the salty liquid. There was a minor search for the murderer and a couple witnesses coming in, but after a couple month it was considered a cold case. The guy was a lone wolf and to be honest there was not a huge group of people missing him. Months turned to years and soon everybody gave up and simply told themselves that some things are not meant to be solved
