about this story

It takes a lot to be an effective leader. First, an ability to imagine the path ahead and move forward with persistence. Second, leaders must be acutely aware of their surroundings, like the tentacles of a jelly fish, reaching out, sensing surroundings, adapting to obstacles along the way. Third, effective leaders use the information they gather to create clarity and focus, while never losing sight of the important stuff, like (fourth) the people that want to follow them! Relationships matter and cultivating and developing others is a critical component of leadership. Finally, (take five) leaders must always be game and adapt to things outside of their control - ready to change direction, cast a new vision, and push new boundaries.
