about this story

A group of individuals got together to discuss what they saw as an issue of graffiti and other acts of vandalism near their homes. The residents talked about how the crime of defacing property was driving down the values of their homes and impacting the "type" of people moving into their area. Then another person spoke up; they asked to think about how ugly some of the current things in their area were anyways. This person was determined to find a solution to the problem of both ugly structures and useless vandalism. The person suggested that the local government fund these "artist" to create murals and uplifting messages. The suggestion was a huge success. The area became a hot spot for people who enjoyed seeing the locally created artwork. Everyone was happy!
