Mr Doo Doo was sitting there at The Slug Restaurant having a coffee with his breakfast, when he realized there was a major problem.
"YECCH! MY BAKED BEANS TASTE LIKE DOG POO!" Everyone in the restaurant heard him.
Mr. DooDoo called the waiter over. He said to him, "Franco, how long have you been working here at The Slug Restaurant?"
"Mr. DooDoo, about five years."
"Well Franco, call your boss and tell him this morning's baked beans have poisoned my palate! They taste like little rabbit turds."
Franco called his boss, Marion. Marion was just coming out of the Hard Rock Cafe with some of her buddies when she answered her mobile.
"What the hell do you want? I'm off work today," said Marion, who wasn't exactly a morning person even on a good day.
"Boss, we got a problem. Mr. DooDoo is here again, and he doesn't like this morning's baked beans."
"Franco, go and check with the cook. It ain't my problem. Now leave me alone!"
"Okay boss," answered Franco.
Franco was not getting any support from the boss. And he knew he wasn't about to make any friends with the kitchen
staff either.
He walked into the kitchen.
There on the wall was a photo of his father's fishing boat. Floating in the cool grey waters of the Thames, a symbol of the family's broken dreams.
Franco wondered how ever got into this mess in the first place. Why, oh why, he asked himself, did his father ever leave Tuscany? He asked himself HOW in God's name did he ever get stuck here in London working at some lame restaurant called The Slug?
Franco asked the cook, "Hey Gordon, can I see the expiry date on those cans of baked beans."
Gordon picked up a can and looked at the back. "These beans are still good, Franco."
Franco was seized in a grip of instant panic. There, on the can of beans, was the label, as clear as day:
"BAG IT AND BIN IT"
