So I had a spare day on my stopover in Hanoi, Vietnam. I had been to Hanoi before and instead of going on a serene spiritual journey this time, I just wanted to have some fun. I found a brochure for the open range zoo and that was me sold. I jumped on the tour bus, tourist pack in hand and ready for my slightly cheesy, slightly dodgy yet magnificent tour.
Honestly I didn't expect to see a fiery gorilla, that was pretty awesome, almost as good as the hilarious tour-guide, he had me in stitches all day. It was the day I was after, easy entertainment with a stress free vibe.
I waved goodbye to my hilarious bus driver/ tour-guide Hai, and set forth to the hotel restaurant to stock up on some culinary delights. The mango sticky rice combination was definitely one of the highlights of Hanoi, hopefully I make it back here next year as well.
