I recently received a package of torn and tattered books from an unknown sender. To my surprise, one of the books referenced the history of jazz and the connection to New Orleans jazz clubs of years past. Another book focused on the woman's movement and chronicled recipes through the ages. It's interesting how the recipes became more simplistic as women entered the work force and spent less time preparing meals. After reviewing the book concerning union contracts and union negotiations, I realized that in fact the package was to go to a nearby library. All of the reference books had somehow been taken from the library and needed to be returned.
