The fire slowly died as the sun came up. The padocks and pastures were empty! Where had all the cows and horses gone? As I tried to follow their tracks I came to the foothills. Still not an animal in sight. They had vanished into the night. If only the lone butterfly could talk would she know? What things had she seen pass this way? If only we could converse!
