about this story

"Ouch, stop that!" screeched the beautiful, mature maple tree. The basketball hoop was now in place and ready for the forest game of groundball (aka basketball). The difference between groundball and basketball is that a human has to bungy down a cliff and fit through the groundball hoop.

This new sport has become quite an attention grabber, and an expensive one at that. Each participant pays $500.00 to jump through the hoop.

Bob was standing at the top of the cliff enjoying the view. The sun was just rising over the horizon. Butterflies were jumping in his stomach, his heart rate was up and his Will was in order.

Bob took a deep breath and looked up to the sky. He slowly released the breath. He took a second breath, a cleansing breath, and slowly released it. Then he took a step forward. He plunged off the cliff into a time reserved for nothing. He loved the solitude of the fall as the wind blew through his body. Not a care in the world - expect for aiming for the hoop. As Bob became one with the environment he soon saw the targeted tree and began to aim his torpedo like body for the top of it. Before long he saw the elephant size hoop and began to take aim. Closer, closer, closer.

He made it. He funneled his way through successfully and landed without breaking any body parts. What a dunk!

Later that day, Bob played peacefully with his grandson at the beach knowing he was one of a select group of individuals who have played groundball.
