about this story
When I was little, I had many toys. I had many barbies and dollhouses and stuffed animals. I still have a stuffed doll that I got when I was born on my bed to this day. Even though I had all these toys, I still wanted a pet. I had pet fish before but that didn't count. I wanted something that I could take care of, feed and play with, like a dog. But my parents didn't let me get one because my dad was absolutely terrified of dogs because of his childhood experience. I was very sad at first, but I soon realized that I was terrible with animals. I went to a farm for a field trip in grade 1 and I remember I was scared of every animal there. Even today I'm still afraid of dogs.
I remember when I was around 8 years old, my summers consisted of two things: beaches, parks and computers. If I wasn't at the beach or at the park, I was on the computer. My life was pretty simple and fun back then. I was with my friends 24/7 and we were almost never bored. Looking back at my recent summers, I realized I need to get out more. I stay home in front of my laptop too much and I don't hang out with my friends as much as I would like to for some reason. Hopefully I can go on a cruise next summer. I really want the summer of 2012 to stand out because of all the other summers I wasted in front of the computer. But even if my summer turns out to be exactly the same as last year's, it won't bother me that much because there is always next year.
