about this story

I had just closed the refrigerator door after I grabbed myself some fresh strawberries. I heard something strange in the barn outside the dining room window. I squinted my eyes long and hard until I found a small lit candle appear in the barn window. I set down my bowl of strawberries and walked outside. When I reached the end of the stairs on my porch I heard a buzzing noise. I looked down quickly and noticed a bumble bee on a gorgeous pink flower my mother had just placed a week ago. I thrashed my head up when I heard a thump in the loft of the barn. I walked faster and faster determined to find out what that was in the barn. A small maple tree branch hit me in the head as I was walking leaving leaves in my hair. I slowly and quietly opened the barn door and found the back door slamming as if someone had just run out the back. I followed the heavy breathing and loud footsteps ahead of me after blowing out the suspicious candle. Into the woods I went, small sticks on the cold ground interfering with my running speed. I stopped to catch my breathe when I found myself at the end of a narrow trail that I had never seen before.

I followed this trail for a while, watching for footprints in the small mud pits throughout. I had used about five minutes of running until the trail Y'd off. I didn't know which way to go, so I stopped. I thought for a minute if I should keep going or go back. "My parents won't be back for another 3 days..." I thought to myself. So I took the path that went right. I found a few footprints on the way which was a good sign but I couldn't hear any heavy breathing any more. I kept going.

When I found an empty field and a lane of benches with a man sitting on the end of one of them, I hid my face. I watched him for a while until he got up and went straight forward with a blank look in his face. I followed him slowly, tip-toeing. He walked through the door of an abandoned cottage. I kept following him. I walked through the door. I felt dizzy when I opened my eyes. It was all a white endless landscape beyond me. Where was I? Would I ever get back to my parents? What happened to the man? What is this place?

I was in that white room for what felt like weeks, when I noticed a small black whole getting bigger, swallowing everything in its path. I guess I looked too close and fell in, I don't really know but I was now on an open, endless highway... "What is happening to me?" I screamed.
