The fence was long and unbroken. The tortoise longed to go back to the ocean but needed to be brave to leave his grassy, safe spot in the zoo. He got through an opening and was on his way. The surveillance camera recorded his escape but no security watched the tape that night. As darkness fell, he was still trying to find his way to water. At last, by daylight the next day he had made it to the shore. FREEDOM!
