about this story

Three years ago a middle-aged Finnish man named Timmo Hevalainen decided to take a break from working in world-famous 'Nokia' headquarters. He wanted to have a rest without anybody interrupting him, so he went away from capital Helsinki to his summer villa located in the middle of nowhere of Saimaa Lakeland.

Timmo spent two weeks there but no such thing that could be called 'rest' appeared. His co-workers kept calling, the packages that were brought by postman every second day got heavier and heavier. Timmo was very annoyed.

After the third week of such 'holidays' Timmo decided to leave for somewhere else where nobody could find him. He chose Cyprus — a nice and warm island somewhere — he didn't really understood where — in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea.

The flight from Tampere to Nicosia took six hours but Timmo's excitement about being far away from everybody didn't drop down.

After taking some rest in the hotel he stayed in, Timmo went out to explore the new surroundings. Cyprus seemed not only stunning, but also a very simple country for him. The more he saw while strolling around, the more he enjoyed it. It was a paradise.

Suddenly, a wild donkey passed through him. It was a nice, grey-brown untamed donkey with deep watery eyes. The donkey made a sound of something like 'yee' or 'yoo' and galloped to the seaside. Timmo followed.

As soon as they reached the beach, Timmo saw a nice hut build on the very edge of a cliff. The hut was made of stones; particularly dolomite, so it was bright yellow and had a number 4036 above the door which was left wide open.

Timmo went inside. There was a thick dusk that surrounded everything but he managed to see a few details. The walls of the hut were decorated with southern-ish tiles and the floor were covered with thin layer of small stones which were probably taken from the nearby beach. It was a nicely decorated shelter for those who seeked for solitude.

Timmo found a small chair and sat down. He heard the sound of the donkey's 'yee' or 'yoo' somewhere around and he was sure he would not come back to his hotel room.
