about this story

The city of Tarnim was destroyed by an earthquake. All the buildings fell over and millions of people died at the spot. People no longer wanted to live in the city and soon Tarnim was emptied. Rumors said that the land was cursed and no man would be able to live live in the city for a thousand years. A few years after the earthquake, a person pushed through the heavy metal doors of Tarnim and walked in. It was an old woman, her face as wrinkly as a walnut shell. It was wrinklier than usual filled with sadness. She kneeled on the ground and opened her bag and carefully picked up a cat. The fat female feline was frightened that her fluffy fur was fluttering even as the old woman fed her. Old woman stood up and left the city leaving the cat with a bag of cat food. The door was closed behind her. The cat waited and waited for the old woman but the door stayed closed. A few months later, the door creaked open. The cat automatically turned around but it was not the old woman. It was a girl with a cage. When she saw the cat, she opened the cage door and let her guinea pigs free. As soon as her three guinea pigs left thecae, she dashed back to the door and left. The cat thought that the deafening silence would be back but as soon as he got back into his bag to go back to sleep, he heard "squeak squeak!"
