Our hearts thumped as we heard the explosions nearby. Bright lights filtered in through the windows. Laughter, tears and hugs were in abundance everywhere you turned. It was New Year's Eve and family and friends were getting ready to dig in to a hearty dinner of an assortment of dishes displayed around the table, toasting to new promises and plans. This new year would definitely bring new experiences in the shape of trips to different parts of the earth. We would go hiking in he mountains, white water rafting in crystal blue waters and sky diving into a cloudy abyss. This would absolutely be a great year.
