Mrs. Cummings was a lonely woman who never got married, after having rejected many proposals, she ended up living alone in a cozy cottage near to a beautiful lake. She became ill tempered and did not have visits nor family, the only company she had was a white cat that she adored and made her feel less lonely. She did not have a job, so she used to knit blankets and she prepared delicious homemade jelly that she would sell at the market on Sundays. She sometimes sold a lot and some other days did not sell anything. She knew she had not friends nor family and nobody to talk to, so she sometimes felt miserable about her life, but other days she felt her life was just what she deserved and expected.
