about this story
It was autumn and it was cold, but we went for a walk near the sea anyway. I felt guilty. So many things to do. I decided to leave Carolline with the little girl and I went back to the house. I went upstairs to my studio. It felt good and warm up there. I like it when I am on my own up, cooking up my stories. I heard some noise behind me. It was little Helen. She had managed to come up with me without being noticed and now there she was looking at me, staring at me. She didn´t say anything, just looked at me intensely and after a little while she forced herself to smile. I wasn\'t angry at her, just surprised. She took my hand and led me out of the room all the way down to the garden and said \"sit down here, daddy. From here you can see us playing with mammy on the beach. And we can see you too. Mammy like to see you\". And she ran back to Caroline. She was sweet, little Helene.
