These photographs remind me of the play between nature and man. One can see several interpretations of nature in these photographs. Man does not exist in a vacuum, he exists as part of nature even though most don\'t recognize it. How many parables poems and stories does man have about the changing of the seasons? When talking to an older person one may frequently hear I\'ve seen too many sunsets or I\'ve seen too many autumns. Nature sets the tone of life rebirth and death. The artist interpretation of an insect on a branch is man\'s direct attempt to imitate nature but there are more subtle ones. Go into any of the great cathedrals, mosques, or temples and you will see a direct copy of nature itself. When walking into the national Cathedral in Washington DC I was reminded of driving down a lane of arching oaks in the South. The very construction of the arches and the spires mimicked those of nature. The lichen and the ferns are the adornments on the columns.
