about this story

On one fair morning when the members of the prince's court were arguing yet again on what would make the people happy the prince thought of a very simple solution. He would ask the people. With the court members still deep in argument the prince got up and left the room. He continued on to the castle gates and threw his weight against the doors. The doors slowly yielded and opened and he slipped outside, but what he found was a long empty road and from the shadow cast on the ground he saw for the first time that he was a monster, but he wasn't afraid. He simply remember then that the monster's sorrow at having lost all human company is what had started the never ending argument of human happiness. If only they had brought some happiness then the monsters may still have had a purpose in the world.
