As you get older life gets more complex. No one knows where you came from or what you have gone through. Life begins to speed up and sometimes you lose track of who is important, that is when you start to take such simple things for granite. Being the youngest, I have always had someone to look up to and that is my sister Kristen. She is someone I always wanted to be like and who I admire. She always knows how to put a smile on your face and brighten your day. If there was something you were going through she would be the person to talk to. Kristen and I are invincible and are the best of friends, we have always had that sister bond where we always get along.
Last year, for a choir trip we went to Disneyland, a few days after, Kristen had what she thought was a "fainting spell". It wasn't what normally happens this was different. My parents knew something wasn't right, she was incoherent and had a blank look on her face. I went on with my day of school while Kristen my Mom and Dad went to the hospital to make sure everything was okay. After taking multiple tests the results came back and told Kristen she had a seizure and she is epileptic. Fast forward a year and our next choir trip we were going to Toronto. We had to take a red eye flight which sucked because by the end of the day we went 24 hours without sleeping. The reason why we went was for Nationals, Kristen lived for choir and show choir and she could not wait any longer for nationals to come. The morning of nationals I got this weird feeling that something wasn't right, I just felt off. Everyone met up in the lobby of our hotel and went for breakfast. As soon as I got there I noticed that Kristen and one of her roommates Andrea, were not there. Right then I knew something happened to her. I immediately starting crying when one of the chaperones told me she had a seizure. As soon as Kristen slowly came back out of consciousness the first thing that came out of her mouth was "I need to get ready so I can perform"! A couple hours later she performed and was incredible. The mountain resembles how she had a seizure but still performed and that nothing was going to stop her from performing, and I could not have been more proud of her.
