about this story

The Angry Mr. Timothy

I woke up in a dark alleyway, my head was spinning, and the whole world was black and white! There was an abandoned coffee shop just down the street, with a car parked outside. All of a sudden, my vision still blurry, I saw a figure coming out of the car, flanked by two huge men, barely human they were! I dragged myself behind a near by trashcan, hoping I had not been seen by these two behemoths. Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my ribs, and I turned to see a boy, not much older than myself, 14 at the most. He looked worried, and his breathing was heavy. I could not understand him, and he sounded European, like Swiss or Finnish. He was waving his hands, as if to tell me where I should go, or what I should do. He looked terrified, then he sat bolt upright, stood up and ran out at the guards. Yelling in his native language. The guards shot him, each hitting him five or ten times, with his last dying breaths he looked at me, as if to say, “what were you doing, I told you to go”. I realized, in that moment, he had wanted me to sneak into the coffee shop. I screwed up, and it cost him his life, but it probably would have anyway. I promised one way, another or myself that I would get in. The guards cautiously escorted the figure inside, slamming the doors behind them. I Frantically looked around, for a doorway, a window anything, them I saw it, a smashed skylight. That was my ticket in. I climbed onto the roof, and I saw the figure take off his mask and then my memory came back, it was Timothy!!!!! I slipped on some grass, and the guards must have heard something because they took their master and almost threw him into the car, and sped off. I followed them, or at least the scorched tire marks on the pavement to a wall. The wall seemed to have water coming out, and I realized this was a dam, I heard about them in the education instates, before Timothy came to power. These dams had the power to stop water, massive walls of water. This one was in ill repair. Out of the blue came the same screeching noise, and I knew the car was nearby. I hid, and once the car had passed I began, once again to follow it. The tracks led to another wall, this one as well had water gushing out, but not nice clear water, this was green and brown water, cascading out like it was attracted to the city itself. I clambered onto the roof of a nearby building. What I saw took my breath away. These leaking walls surrounded the whole city. At that moment, I lost all hope, and as if right on cue, the walls became dust, and the water came rushing in…
