about this story

Space Explorer, Captain Richert, landed on the moon. He was part of a expedition to find a suitable site for the new lunar station. Now that earth's population had exceeded its ability to sustain, the Captain knew this was humanity's last chance as they only had limited fossil fuels left to find the site, complete construction, and begin the transports.
He looked at his picture of his daughter's hand holding one of the valuable seeds that can be successfully planted in lunar soil. The hope of the world.
Captain Richert returned to earth after he and his team found a good site in the Sea of Tranquility, and the new station was in progress. A flu pandemic struck killing nearly 30% of the world's population.
This caused the halls of governments to call for an end to the construction on the moon, but in the end, most people realized they had to have an alternative should we need it in the future.
Eventually, the station was competed, and Captain Richert and his family and the families of many others who wanted to start over, boarded the transport for the moon and a new life.
