Five Card Story: Smokey Terrors

Smokey sat and contemplated the world from his perch high in the sky. Well, it wasn’t exactly high in the sky, but when you’re a cat living on the 40th floor of a massive building it did seem like high in the sky at times. He knew that closer to the ground there were people walking around, but by some strange quirk of nature there seemed to be giants who walked around leaving impressions of their feet everywhere. Strange looking vans also drove around - they appeared to have wheels and be driving around on roads, but Smokey knew that was impossible! What on earth was going on? Suddenly a van morphed into a grotesque clown face and started rotating from the left to the right and then back to the left again. Smokey reached out to touch the creepy face and lept back in terror - his paws had turned into fingers! Frantically he scrapped at whatever it was that was in front of him. Just before everything went black he saw an imprint of his fingers sliding down a dirty white wall. Black turned to white then to black again and he woke with a sudden jerk. Not only had he been dreaming, but he wasn’t even a cat!
