I looked up to the sky in time to see the clouds part. Mother Mary leached from the edifice as if in warning of the events to come. A noise behind me prompted me to turn, and just in time. An army of half-formed plastic bodies marched forth, set on destruction. Even the bees took notice, and they fled from the flowers beside me in a cloud, and ascended into the heavens. Suddenly, Dr. Cannon and other like-minded citizens gathered to find something, anything that would stand up to the lifeless terror. Out of refuse of our crumbled city, they fashioned together a weapon. This weapon, they thought, would save us all.
