Five Card Story: Late for a very important date

Greg is rushing to make an important appointment, but he is hitting every redlight possible. Stopped at one of the red lights he hears on the radio that the tiger of the local zoo has escaped. Greg pushes the news out of his mind, but moments later hears roaring and screaming from right outside his window. He hears sirens and anticipates a massive traffic jam, so quickly changes his route when the light changes. His new route seems to have less traffic, and less lights to get stuck in. Greg is relieved, and only gets stopped at one light, next to a church. The church doors burst open and a flood of protesters pour out, filling and blocking the road in front of Greg. It's several minutes until the road is clear. Finally he arrives at the Tiny Crab, shop for children. He runs inside, but the girl working at the counter is not Nacy, his girlfriend, but the girl Nacy was training to take her place. Greg knows this means Nacy has left already. He was unable to stop her. He walks around back to talk a walk. He takes the jewelry box out of her pocket and stares at the sparkling ring. He looks off into the distance and sighs.
