about this story

I once was a young boy who took walks with my dad every weekend. This was a passion of his taking walks on trails and camping. Sense he pasted about five years ago it was always hard for me to go on hikes because of the pain in my heart doing it without him. Finally I started training for the appalachian trail. Starting this trip made me think about my father and all the good times we had together. One cold morning I woke up to a chicken clucking outside my tent. This chicken followed me for hours not knowing why it followed me. The chicken was the closet friend I had but it finally left and I had to keep going on. The views on this trail have been truly amazing watching the sunset every night has really changed my ways of thinking. I remembered my dad and how safe I always felt when I was around him ,then realizing how scary and lonely this trip has been for me. The places I have had to walk were not as pretty as you would think. But at the end of it all climbing up those mountains and trails I feel it has brought me closer to my father. He always wanted to hike these trails and I feel as if I did it for him and with him.
