about this story

My little holiday away went really well just recently, well kind of. You see I had a few days off work and just hopped on a train down to Brighton. I love Brighton with its colourful shops, interesting people and the Pier. Yes I can't forget the Pier. It is one of my favourite places, especially at night with all the bright lights, hussle and bussle and of course the fair ground music. There's no better place than right at the very top of the big wheel, especially when it stops, and the your seat starts swinging in the breeze. I like to feel scared sometimes and fair ground rides, especially roller coasters do it for me. Away from all the noise and thrills, I also like poking around the market stalls to see what treasures I may unearth. Every where I go in my travels I like to find something special that reminds myself of that trip, and the places and people I have met. On this trip I found this hand painted pottery, just the thing, as I needed something to put my ear rings in. You know a little dish on your bedside table to put those last minute things in just before you go to bed. Plus these darling little plates had a wonderful floral design that wasn't too girlie, and reminded me of my walk in the gardens surrounding the Pavilion. I think I will always remember sitting at the cafe enjoying that delicious strawberry and vanilla ice cream, while studying the onion topped roofs, just so strange having a building like that in England. Anyway that was when my wonderful few days away started to unravel. You see Brighton was just the start of my holiday, and in my handbag I had return plane tickets for the next leg, Spain. And somehow they must have fallen out, I'm not sure when but once I got back to my hotel to get changed for dinner and then a few hours at the Pier, I couldn't find them. I couldn't believe it as I was really looking forward to a few days beside a crystal blue pool, just relaxing. I couldn't even get another flight as all the seats were booked so bang went my holiday. Well that's what I thought. You see while I was on the big wheel that night, thinking about Spain, I was sat next to this guy. Yes he was attractive, lucky me, but when the big wheel stopped at the top we got talking. He said something about the city lights, but the view didn't seem so important as I gazed into his crystal blue eyes, and my thoughts of my lost holiday by the pool simply vanished. The ride felt to go on for ever as time seemed to stop. It was just him and me trapped together in space. Needless to say I spent a few more days in Brighton. We walked through gardens of blue, did I mention his eyes are blue, bathed in the sun as we lounged in deck chairs on the stony beach, and laughed as we spent hours together at the Pier eating ice cream and searching for treasures. My train journey back home was also memorable as he happened to live just a few miles away from me, and he works just around the corner from my office. So we have lunch together everyday and we are planning to go to Spain in a couple of weeks. So yes my little holiday away did go rather well.
