about this story

While the upper-class worries about the next house they buy, the new cars and flashy dimaonds. Were worried about building a foundation for the rest of our lives. See nothing was handed to me, so i know what it's like to come up from having nothing at one point to where i am now. Ride through where I'm from you'll see rusted, beat down cars, and plenty of abandoned houses. You'll see people that look nice, you'll see some that can't afford more than what they have on. You see where I'm from we break bread and help one another, round here, a dollar can be a lot to someone. Ran down shops and stores, getting looted every so often, this was a regular. Posted signs over the "white" man's farm land, oh no don't go back there man.. Cracked cement could show our relationship with the modern world. They don't care to fix the roads so why would they care about what happens in my town? Most of the people from where I'm from never make it out of there, some decided to leave and come back, then eventually end up stayin back there. The old heads use to look at us like we were stupid, like we were oblivious to the real world, even though i had my cap on tight. I use to be labled by those i hung around, but you see who i associate with and where I'm from isn't a reflection of who i truly am, that's why i had to get out of there..
