Today was a good day. I awoke from a wonderful slumber full of energy and determination. It was time to get ready for school -today would be a learning day! Closing the door to our family home I could not help but look back and admire the roof line of this timeless structure. Six generations have lived in this fortress securely settled in next to the steel rails of the town train tracks. Time to travel. My wonderful red bicycle proved it's worth as we skillfully rolled and bumped our way across the slippery steel and wood train crossing and continued on, safely reaching our destination. School was challenging. I put forth great effort towards my writing assignment and felt a special sense of pride that one gets by focusing, working hard, and finishing a project. (I also drank a few mint juleps.) On the way home the road was closed for construction and another, longer route had to be taken. I didn't mind going the long way though; I was going home and it had been a good day.
