about this story

It was my wedding day. I had been looking forward to it for almost a year now. All of the planning has led up to this day and it was time to walk into the chapel. But as I walked towards my soon to be wife I was struck with a sense of unhappiness and all of the sudden I started having these images fly through my head. I saw our child and I was happy, but then I saw my grave. Inscribed on the tombstone were the words "Here lies Dave, he led an incredible life and then he got married, had children and died" Did I really want to live my life doing what so many others have done? The same day to day routine as every husband who has kids. I had always considered my life to be unique and I started to think about walking away. I'll always regret walking away that day, but I would have regretted it more if I hadn't.
