Joey's dad died of lung cancer, from the 5 pack a day smoking addiction. Joey left the last empty pack on the side walk and it reminded him of his dad every time he passed it on his way to school. Eventually the cigarette pack was gone, but every time Joey looks at the brick sidewalk, he remembers his father and the bad addiction he swears he will never do.
