"Wake up you rag" Miss Reynolds called to Jacob " You've got to go get the corn for tonights meal. Jacob slowly ached out of his straw bed, yawned ans smiled. He didn't particularly like the Raymond's but yet he loved life and again what could he do? For Jacob was only a slave. He got up fed his goat Sheba walked to the bay for a swim. He came back later to find he would be going to war for the South. Although he was scared to die he had a hunch that he'd soon be free.
