It was winter time in the town and the snow covered most of the ground. He was the last remaining war vet left in his town, which was lonely at times. The cold only reinforced that. He wasn't quite sure why he stayed. He dreamed of sunset beaches and riding his motorcycle as the ocean breeze whipped around him. As he entered the casino, hoping to win his ticket out of here, he was met with laughter and chatter and a friendly wave over to a table. He didn't feel so alone anymore.
