about this story
One cold snowy winter day, a bird, a cold bird, dreamed of spring. He thought of rainy days that people seemed to hate, but he loved. He loved the fresh feel of the water warming his body. He loved the sound of the drops hitting the puddles. Most of all, he loved the abundant fresh water to drink and refresh him.
The bird dreamed of the flowers that bloomed. He felt so beautiful when his dark gray feathers stood next to the bright pink blossoms of the tree. He loved the insects that were found nearby to go with the fresh water he drank.
The bird dreamed of flying across the green grass peppered with brightly colored petals and over streams running clear across rocky paths.
The cold and damp bird dreamed of a time he knew would come, he just had to hold on to his dreams until it did.
