about this story
I was in my parent's shop when the disastrous earthquake hit. Food flew of the shelves and splattered onto the cold white floor. Later on the news they determined it was only a magnitude of 5.4, but it felt like a lot more.
My parents were devastated about the shop, but nothing was going to stop them from going to my 4 year old cousins birthday. On the way to their house we spotted a completely destroyed house and my parents being the caring and sympathetic kind of people they are, went to see if the owner of the house was ok.
The house turned out to be completely deserted except for a sad looking doing cowering in the closet of one of the bedrooms.
One day later his 4 year old cousin got the best present of his life.
