Walking into my PD, I felt like a million bucks. I was ready to blow the minds of the attendees with the amazing tech tools I was going to show them, and delighting in the thought that ideas would be fluttering all around the room like a swarm of monarch butterflies. This PD was going to be magical. Then, we hit a wall. The technology was not cooperating. I kept trying to climb the barrier, and falling back down. My pride was bruised. I saw the error of the overconfidence I began with. I kept a brave face as well as I could, despite the fact that my pits were suddenly stress sweating profusely. I pushed forward. We cruised down the road as best we could with the challenges presented. Every time an obstacle presented itself, I swerved, then got back on track. In the end, I was rewarded with some juicy, candy apple ideas and I saw the fruits of my labors, even if it didn't all go as planned.
