What was once the great pillar of humanity
has all collapsed, glass and stone
now cover the barren earth of a city alone,
great canyons carved from bombs and rockets,
charred skeletons with empty sockets,
houses stand empty,
buildings and statues alone,
the wind has ceased to moan,
the streets people used to roam,
now stand in a dreaded silence.
