男孩總是獨自一人玩著玩具，無聊時還會建造起文具建築來，但他在自己玩的同時，總是面無表情，絲毫沒有開心的感覺，爺爺見狀，想讓男孩開心起來，嘗試了各種方法，也帶男孩出去走走，但男孩就是逕自走著，彷彿對所有事物失去興趣，爺爺很苦惱，偶然看到路上有小朋友開心地帶著狗狗奔跑，爺爺想著：或許狗狗能讓自己的小孫子開心起來，於是帶了隻狗給男孩，過沒幾天，男孩就和狗狗玩的不亦樂乎，爺爺也因為孫子開心，自己的心情也好上了許多，爺孫和狗就這樣每天都過著歡樂溫馨的日子。
