There was a secret in the water. Now, after so much time has passed, I look in the pond and I see the secret reflected on my face. Coming back the park looks overgrown, unused. I've heard people stayed away. They stayed away from the park for years. Fear of the unknown. Fear of dangers that might still lurk. On my way here I still saw the old memorials. People forgot about me, but they never forgot her. The only one that comes through the park today is a train at the far edge. Even it seems to move quickly and stay far away from me and the pond. There's a small clump of white flowers growing by the edge of the pond. Maybe my memory is foggy, but I swear they're growing right in the spot. The spot where I saw. It wasn't me that was responsible, but it might as well have been the way my life's turned out. I should've said something then. It's too late now.
