Heroin abuse affects millions of people everyday in the United States. Heroin is one of the most highly abused and deadly drugs in our country because of how cheap and easy to find it is. According to the addiction center, about 15,000 Americans died from heroin overdose in 2017. People who choose to try and abuse heroin like this are real asses. They are not only ruining their own lives, but can seriously affect the lives of the people around them as well. Due to their addiction, a lot of addicts will end up homeless and living on the street because all of their money and attention being put toward feeding their addiction to heroin. Addicts need to get their lives in check and start working on building a life that is worth living by getting clean, getting a good job and reconnecting with their loved ones. When an addict wakes up everyday, he will either live in the shadow of a drug addiction or he will emerge in the light, find help and turn his or her life around.
