about this story

The day was glum,
not a bird would sing,
a frown upon the city,
a lost friend.

It felt still that day,
as if time itself had stopped,
like a traffic jam of yesterday,
a lost friend.

I gathered the flowers,
the ones from her favorite path,
she loved how they would smell,
a lost friend.

I arrived at the church,
women dressed in black,
then I saw her,
a lost friend.

My eyes gave up,
tears down my face,
she was like a crippled leaf,
a lost friend.

All I should have told her,
about how I felt,
I should have told her,
a lost lover.
