After running away from home, Alyssa doesn't know where to go. She's walked down this road for what feels like hours, but she doesn't know where she's going. She's tried to hitchhike, but every car has passed by her. With no cars stopping for her, Alyssa decides to walk to the local fair and get her mind off things, and also spend the little money she brought with her. Even after riding every ride twice, Alyssa still didn't know what she was doing- or where she was going. After walking around aimlessly for another hour, Alyssa ends up on a highway. Even with her hopes that someone would actually give her a ride this time, no one stops. Alyssa feels like she's been walking for days, she feels like world is against her. She wonders how far from home she is. She's been walking for hours, but her mind is still blank on where she's going. While passing through a small town, Alyssa notices an auto salvage shop. A car would be nice to get further from home, but Alyssa has no money. After debating for a couple minutes, she decides to find a car that might be usable. Alyssa finds a beat up Ford that's in pretty good condition to drive, but wonders if any of this is even worth it. She hasn't even seen any workers of the car place, so who says she'll get caught? But she's also never done something this crazy. Maybe there are workers, maybe she will get caught stealing the car. Even with her doubts, Alyssa gets in through the busted car door and hotwires the car. Who would catch her? She starts the car and drives through the town, thinking of where she can go. Getting caught was the last thing on Alyssa's mind at this point, she just wanted to find somewhere to park and stay for the night while she figures everything else out. Alyssa was casually driving when she hit a stoplight, then the police sirens came on. Alyssa froze in fear, realizing they were after her.
