about this story

Tina works at Inspira hospital, where she was on her 4th night working a long 12 hr shift in the west wing where they would keep all the positive Covid 19 patients. She receives a message from my mother "Hija, llama me lo mas antes que puedas (daughter call me as soon as you can)"

Rising Action
"Hey ma, is everything okay?" She hears sobbing, her knees buckled, eyes watered and she felt like her stomach was gutted. Without her finishing her sentence she knew what had happen. Tina asked a co-worker to cover for her, she needed fresh air.

Tina's heart ached, with every step that she took towards the roof top of the hospital. She pulls off her double masks, glasses, face shield, apron and scrub cap off and yells to the top of her lungs! Overwhelmed with anger, sadness and confusion to what is happening. Covid 19 consumed the life of a special woman, who her and her siblings called "Titi Mary". Mary was Tina's mothers’ friend since grade school. Just because she was not her mother’s blood sister, she was an Aunt to Tina, blood could not have made them any closer. She knew she was unable to stay at work, being mentally, emotionally and physically exhausted beyond measures.

Falling Action
Tina's drive in solitude felt lonesome. Nobody walked the streets barely any cars. The only thing that accompanied mother nature was her own shadow. She knew that going home and getting some rest would not be easy. Working in the hospital mandated that she cannot be around friends and loved ones.

Falling Action
Tina loved to run but has not been able to do it since the pandemic started. She felt that if she ran, she would set her mind free. Free her mind with the 101 thoughts that is playing in her head. Tina ran and she ran, and she pushed herself to fun all the way to the top of the cliff to watch the sunrise. Tears filled her eyes and the corner of her lips reached for her ears. Tina felt at peace with herself. Some things are to be understood and others are just meant to be, we all have a purpose, we all shall push and never allow the stones and cracks on your path hinder you but allow it to prosper. Tina was able to recollect all her thoughts and be there for her family and loved ones virtually.
