about this story

Everyone has the right to own a real self and an ideal self. As Carl Rogers said, we all own both real and ideal self. As seen in the picture, the self represents you which is we called the real self and the ideal self is what you think of you, base on the influence of others. The real self can be related to the forest, it is in you naturally, like the nature you need to appreciate yourself first rather than the ideal self because the real self is you, you don't need to fit into others to become what the society wants, I think Carl Rogers discover this when he was working with troubled children, they may have influence his idea that both of us have the rights to own real and ideal self
